With an eye for beautiful materials and laidback styling, Los Angeles designer Lisa Popp took inspiration from her hometown Malibu to create a brand that embodies effortless beauty and undone glamour. And so, thirteen years ago, Tylie Malibu began in a garage in Malibu with one 22 year old girl. "Planet Blue was the first store we ever sold, 8 months later we showed in NY. With the help of many talented people along the way, it just grew from there."
Tylie Malibu appeals to youthful minded women with a penchant for contradiction. "Contradiction is the edge that has always been so much a part of my personal style, mixing high and low always looks more modern. Pairing dresses with ankle booties, throwing a vintage military shirt over a delicate tank or pairing tiny shorts with a cozy oversized top is just perfectly sexy without being over the top." It is this concept of contradiction that has continually inspired and driven the line which includes a full apparel collection, bags and accessories.
Fine knits, vintage up-cycle and one of a kind textiles, buttery soft leathers, exotic textures, fringe, tassels, and classic Americana studding details remain signatures of the brand. It's is the combination of these elements that create the layers of a covetable wardrobe and has built a cult following for the brand.
Tylie Malibu is designed & produced in Los Angeles and can be found at over 800 boutiques and retailers nation wide including Anthropologie, Free People, and RevolveClothing.com.
We hope to inspire women to have sun kissed cheeks, eclectic style, and a fully stamped passport.
